Meet Flamingo Paradise, your '80s 'garden of delights' turned Asian restaurant..
Ok, to be fair, pretty sure this was never an actual brothel. But it could have been, in a good way! Dimmed golden lighting, ornate wood carvings, Neon signs, lacquered furniture, velvet booths and a carpark ranging from scratched Daihatsu's to Bentley's & Ferrari's. It creates an intimate, somewhat decadent scene of unexpected luxuriousness whilst at the same time balancing a certain nostalgia. Its weird, but it works.
Plus, the food is good, really good! Not necessarily cheap, but portions are big and the ingredients are top notch (turbot, wild duck etc.), so it's fine. Besides, even though the restaurant easily has room for 150+ guests a seating, they are packed 7 days a week from start to closure. So it is very hard to argue they have priced themselves to high.
