If there is any restaurant you should go to in the Algarve it is Gigi's. Yes, it is not cheap. Yes, it has a very basic setting with wooden tables and benches without a backrest. And yes, the owner doesn't speak a word in English and is very, very moody and all but helpful... but, man does he know how to get the freshest and best seafood around. And boy does he know how to serve it. It is a transcendental experience and worth every cent!
